Sticky Mouse-eared Chickweed (Cerastium glomeratum)

Sticky Mouse-eared Chickweed (Cerastium glomeratum). Featured previously on this channel, today’s post shows the detail of the plant’s flowers in full bloom. The plant is a Eurasian native, and along with other chickweeds (Stellaria et al) is a ubiquitous contributor to Melbourne’s pavement greenery and an occupier of riparian and damp grassland marginalia throughout the state. It is photographed here in rubble context at the base of an exposed basalt rockface on the Merri Creek.
