Dolichos Pea (Dipogon lignosus), another plant brought from the Cape Colony that is now a permanent part of the landscape of Melbourne and Victoria. Sold as an ornamental from 1855 (thanks J. and J. Rule, Richmond), Dolichos Pea (Cape Sweet Pea, Mile-a-minute Vine) is a smothering invader and a nitrogen-fixer that brings permanent changes to soil chemistry.
