Pale wood-sorrel (Oxalis incarnata), spilling out of a front garden in Northcote. A late arrival from Southern Africa, the species (also known by common names like Lilac oxalis and Climbing oxalis) has only been recorded in Victoria from 1948, when it was collected from a Mont Albert garden with the recorded remarks ‘a bad weed in gardens’. Indeed. It is also a marginal environmental weed, recorded around the edges of various ranges and state forests.
